Jedediah Cormickel has never had a normal childhood. At least, not on Sundays. Especially when he was finally given feeding duty one summer. In the deepest, darkest parts of the church lies a lonely, starving beast. A beast who seems to know more about Jed than Jed even knows about himself. Perhaps these two lonely souls can find comfort in one another...or maybe not.
