Paris Schutzmann becomes renowned within the kingdom of Liutgard after making a name for himself by defeating powerful enemies of the neighbouring kingdom, Rockfort. One day, he receives a message from the Count of Amselheim, who is offering to marry off his daughter, Verena, to him. The catch is that Verena is cursed to change into different "personalities" every few days. Verena may be open to a new life together with Paris, but the same might not be true for the rest of her personalities.
