In a dystopian world, where the deaf community and sign language were forbidden by tyrannical government that controlled the hearing. A young teenager, Shean Barden who was born deaf, is wearing hearing aids to communicate through lip-reading but struggling to cope with his loneliness. When he meet a deaf British-Chinese student Lucinda Lin who encouraged him to break the silence can reveal the hidden truth.
