One of the remnants is Roxanne Harker; her ancestors, members of a race called the ifrit, were marooned by the sealing. Aside from her hideous bat head, she's a pretty regular girl, and she likes it that way. But Roxanne gets tangled in a plot to break the seal and the task may fall to her to unite the realms herself...or stop it from happening.
