Esther Grimes can’t stop thinking about death. The simple thought of it haunts her every waking hour; why bother making choices at all when everybody is promised the same ending? Upon entering high school, Esther has her mind set on three things—avoiding distractions, graduating, and getting out. But her plan quickly crumbles when five outcast classmates drag her into reopening the cold case that has haunted their town and tainted their school’s reputation for the past decade. What starts as harmless curiosity grows into something far more dangerous until it leads the teens to the brink of what should’ve been their grave. All the while something—someone—keeps a close eye on them. Will their brush with death force them into submission, or ignite something deep within them?
