The War of Iyesfria pits angels against vampires that has unfolded over millennia. Sonya, who believed to be human, discovers her true identity as an angel tainted with vampire blood. She is taken in by Morden, who warns her of the threat she faces from a vampire named Riku. As Sonya becomes entangled in the war, she must train to protect Iyesfria while facing her inner struggles and the persistent memories and visions that link her to the man who took her in.
