Sprucville's Home for Lost Children is facing financial hardship, a social worker bent on bringing them down, and a town struggling to keep the orphanage alive and save the kids from the foster system. In the middle of it all, there stands a broken retired veteran and a parentless little girl, death taking away something dear from both of them. This is the account of Spruceville and a two-person family fighting life and its punches.
