Jay and Verill are both skilled mages, but that's where their similarities end. Jay is overconfident, outgoing and impossible not to notice -- the kind of person who talks before he thinks. Verill, on the other hand, is a hardworking, studios and reliable eldest daughter. Through her kindess she breaks open the carefully crafted persona Jay carries and they eventually fall in love.
