Lyra, a young girl who has control over other people's dreams and the stars, lives in a futuristic world where witchcraft is normalised, and the population has been divided into Glints like herself, Noctems, Sols and Nimbuses. Despite her less-than-pleasant school social life, and lack of friends, life is pretty okay„ until she is mysteriously sent away to an entirely different part of the country by her father and stepmother to live with her childhood friend.
