After losing his brother Mike in the war, Max walked away from his AA hockey team and the life he knew. When his girlfriend leaves, he ends up stranded in a small town she is visiting with no money to get home. A tin league captain spots him at the rink and offers a deal—play one game in exchange for bus fare. Max takes it, thinking it’s just a way out, but once he’s back on the ice, the past he’s been running from starts to catch up.
