You want your garlic to get about golden brown. Too dark and it'll go bitter, not dark enough and you won't get all the FLAVA. I also suggest adding the basil after a minute or so but also... this is a lazy recipe so let's be real, all together isn't gonna fuck it up. Also... Try to chop your garlic on a countertop, if possible.
