Nineteen-year-old Seo-yun Han has spent most of her life avoiding questions about the night her mother disappeared. She remembers almost nothing from that night. Only three things: - Her mother telling her never to answer the telephone after 3:13 a.m. - A wet handprint on the inside of her bedroom window. - A woman's voice whispering, “You came back too early.” After her grandmother dies, Seo-yun inherits an apartment in an aging residential building called Haneul Apartments.
