In a kingdom where magic is illegal, witches are hunted, and women must travel with a male escort, Nox, a witch, sets out to plead her case to the king. Unfamiliar with human society, she is accused of witchcraft and handed to Wyrm, a knight sworn to kill witches. When Wyrm breaks his oath, he becomes blighted and is reluctantly forced to help Nox navigate her way to the capital.
