This episode was originally going to be chapter 1 episode 3. It was all drawn and ready to go, but on reading it again it was way too soon to put a flashback in the story. At that point the reader has literally only just been introduced to Maron and to suddenly jump back to a flashback was too jarring and confusing. I've since gone over it and done some touch ups (mostly adding more black).
